The Human Digestive System
and how it works

The Human digestive tract is a system of hollow and solid organs
The hollow organs are the: Mouth, Esophagus, Stomach, Small Intestine,
Large Intestine and the Rectum.
The solid organs are the: Liver, Pancreas and Gallbladder
Bacteria in the digestive system helps with the digestion of food
Circulatory System and Nervous System also helps with digestion
Working together, Nerves, Hormones, Bacteria, Blood and the organs of the digestive system digest the food and liquids you consume each day.
The digestive system breaks down nutrients into elements small enough for your body to absorb and use for Energy, Growth and Cellular Repair of the Human System
The Human Digestive System is designed to intake, process and evacuate waste of Carbon, Hydrogen, Oxygen and Nitrogen
How it works
*The digestion process starts with the mouth
*The teeth, tongue and saliva start to break food down first
*Once small enough food travels down into the stomach
*The stomach releases acids to breakdown food further
*The Pancreas releases hormones to control glucose levels
*If Glucose is too high it releases Insulin
*If Glucose is too low it releases Glucose.
*The stomach reduces the material into a paste
*The stomach than moves the contents into the small intestine
*The small intestine forces nutrients and water thru it's walls
*The nutrients and water are sent to the liver
*The liver processes the elements and distributes them into the blood
The blood distributes Nutrients to their proper systems
Waste mater is moved into the Large Intestine
The waste is processed and sent to the rectum
When rectum is full it will release it's waste
